Senior Business Analyst (Finance) – Contract: 2010 to 2011
Senior Finance Analyst role, reporting to the CFO & FC of iSelect. Responsible for a range of financial modeling, analytics & reporting.
Duties inclusive of financial data capture, management, cleanse & analysis periodically in line with compliance & regulatory accounting standards. Also responsible for problem solving modeling issues & ad hoc analysis/reporting requests from Senior Finance & Top Tier Management.
Achievements
- Built knowledge of current systems - Liaised with Systems Accountant to produce visual representation of (existent) legacy data sources and business information systems (reverse engineered)
- Identified gaps in data sources, analysis systems and associated management reporting to provide advice/suggestions for improvement (plus implementation of minor changes only, due to time restrictions & planned introduction of BI tool)
- Performed successful analysis of financials - drawing data from numerous sources to produce a consolidated analysis report
- Created several SQL reporting queries (views) to assist management accountants in the performance of repetitive analysis.
- Created automated Bonuses Model – released on-time, within budget (included training).
- Reduced time & skill required of the calculation of monthly bonuses dramatically – adding real value by reducing recurring associated task requirement costs as task was passed from FC to Pay-role.
- Increased transparency & eliminated errors within financial reconciliation reports, providing management & overall organization with a clearer, more accurate view of financial positions reported.
